Weekly classes, Yoga Nidra training, philosophy courses, and upcoming immersions in Japan and India.

Our India retreats are designed as immersive journeys into Yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, and mindful living.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all retreat format, we create intimate experiences where each guest has the space to slow down, receive personalized care, and reconnect with their natural rhythm.
India is not simply the destination—it is an essential part of the experience. From traditional Ayurvedic knowledge and authentic Yoga practices to nourishing food, nature, and the quiet rhythm of retreat life, every element invites you to experience wellbeing in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Our retreats are thoughtfully curated for those seeking genuine restoration, inner balance, and a closer connection to the roots of Yoga and Ayurveda.

At the heart of our retreats are three principles: Authenticity, Personalized care, and Excellence. Authenticity means staying connected to the traditional foundations of Yoga and Ayurveda. We believe these practices should be experienced with respect for their origins, knowledge, and purpose.
Personalized care means understanding that every individual arrives with a different body, lifestyle, constitution, and intention. Your experience is therefore shaped around you, rather than asking you to fit into a predetermined program.
Excellence is reflected in every detail—from the practitioners and treatments to the retreat setting, food, hospitality, and overall flow of the experience.
We believe true well-being is not about doing more. It is about creating the right conditions to listen, restore, and return to balance. One size fits all is not our goal, we do differently, we care about lasting impact on overall Health, Mind and Spirit. In our retreats we create "memories of a lifetime". We cherish each of our participants.
India through Japanese lens
Bringing Two cultures.
India Through a Japanese Lens.
Having lived and worked in Japan for over seven years, teaching Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness and Yoga Nidra, I have had the privilege of building a deep and meaningful connection with my Japanese students and clients. Over the years, one quality of Japanese culture has particularly inspired me—their discipline, sincerity, and desire to understand things deeply. Whether it is Yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, or any other subject they choose to explore, there is often a genuine curiosity to go beyond the surface and understand it in depth. This has influenced me deeply, both personally and professionally. It has encouraged me to bring my best into every class, every interaction, and every retreat. During our first retreat in March 2026, I often heard my students say, “Shalini Sensei wa chanto.” For me, chanto was much more than a compliment. It represented something I deeply value—doing things properly, with sincerity, discipline, attention to detail, and genuine care. It was deeply fulfilling to see that through our retreat, I could share with them what I believe a thoughtfully curated experience should feel like. Designed With Japanese Participants in
Our selection process also reflects our understanding of Japanese participants.
Having lived and worked in Japan, gaining an understanding of Japanese culture and lifestyle, i am very conscious that travelling to India for an authentic retreat can be both exciting and unfamiliar.
The quality of the experience is therefore not only about the Ayurveda or Yoga itself. It is also about how comfortably and respectfully participants are able to experience it.
We consider details such as communication, cleanliness, safety, food, accommodation, daily schedules, personal attention, cultural differences, and the overall environment. We want participants to feel that they can step into a very different culture while still feeling supported and understood.
This is where the effort we put into selecting each venue becomes particularly important.
We do not simply ask, “Is this a good Ayurveda centre?”
We ask, “Is this the right place for our Japanese participants?”
That distinction is at the heart of our selection process.

The collaboration between Nirvana Yoga and Nerii Yoga brings together two complementary perspectives: the authentic Indian traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda, and the Japanese approach to refinement, attentiveness, and thoughtful living. This collaboration creates retreats that respect the depth and integrity of traditional Indian wellness while presenting the experience in a way that feels comfortable, personal, and meaningful for Japanese participants.
Our shared intention is simple: to create a space where ancient wisdom can be experienced—not merely learned. Through Yoga, Ayurveda, Meditation, Therapeutic treatments, Mindful food, and moments of stillness, participants are invited to discover how these traditions can become part of everyday life. This is a journey from India to Japan, and from ancient wisdom to modern living.
Eriko Nihara San is a U.S. Yoga Alliance Certified School Development Instructor and runs the Nerii Yoga Studio in Yokohama (ERYT500,YACEP, RPYT),Ayurveda Society Self-care Advisor, Rakukenho Hatsuden Therapist.
She grew up in Tochigi Prefecture, surrounded by nature. Her parents are rice merchants, and many of her relatives and neighbours are farmers, and she grew up with homemade meals mainly vegetables and grains and the wisdom of life that makes use of the providence of nature. After that, she moved to Kanagawa, Tokyo, Hyogo, and Hiroshima due to college, employment, and family transfer, and there were changes in their respective lands, living environment, and life stages, but it was helpful to meet yoga and Ayurveda that support her health at that time. She hopes and wishes to spread all that she has learnt in her journey to share and spread with others too.
Shalini Gupta, I grew up in a family where Yoga was not simply a practice, but a way of life. From an early age, my daily routine and surroundings were deeply influenced by yogic values and principles. Visiting ashrams during school holidays, participating in Seva and practising Karma Yoga were a natural and meaningful part of my upbringing.
My mother has been a lifelong Yoga teacher and writer, regularly sharing her knowledge through newspaper articles. Her writings brought many like-minded and curious people into our lives, and I had the privilege of witnessing our Yoga community grow while our collective understanding and spiritual experiences deepened.
Where authenticity meets personalised care

For Eriko and me, choosing the right venue is one of the most important decisions in creating an authentic and meaningful retreat.
We do not choose a centre simply because it is beautiful, luxurious, or well known. Behind every venue we recommend is considerable research, personal visits, detailed tours, discussions, and meetings with the people who run and deliver the programmes.Time is taken to understand how the centre functions, who its practitioners are, how treatments are designed, the standards they follow, and—most importantly—whether the experience is truly aligned with what we want our participants to receive.
This is particularly important to us because we are introducing Japanese participants to India and to traditions that have evolved over centuries. We feel a strong responsibility to make sure that what they experience is authentic, safe, respectful, and worthy of the trust they place in us.
Authenticity Comes First-
Our foremost consideration is authenticity.
We choose to work with institutions and organisations that are genuinely committed to preserving and practising traditional Ayurveda and Yoga. We look for qualified practitioners, established knowledge, responsible practices, and a genuine respect for the traditions they represent.
India has an enormous number of Ayurveda centres and wellness facilities, particularly in South India. Having many choices makes the selection even more deliberate.
We personally look for institutions that demonstrate experience, credibility, quality, safety, and a commitment to personalised care.We also consider government recognition, established awards, certifications, and the reputation the institution has built within the field.
For us, these are not simply credentials to place in a brochure. They are part of the process we use to determine whether a centre is worthy of introducing to our participants.
Why South India?
South India holds a particularly important place in the Ayurvedic tradition and continues to be home to many respected Ayurvedic institutions and practitioners.
For us, choosing South India is therefore not simply a geographical decision. It gives participants an opportunity to experience Ayurveda in an environment where the tradition has been preserved and continues to be practised as a living system of knowledge.
I hold a Diploma in Yogic Science from a globally recognised Yoga university, along with an M.Com and an MBA in Human Resources. Although my academic and professional journey took me in different directions, Yoga remained a constant thread throughout my life. As I began teaching Yoga more actively, I gradually realised that this was not merely something I practised—it was my true calling.
Over the years, I have lived and travelled across several cities in India before eventually moving to Japan. Each transition brought new experiences, perspectives and opportunities to understand people and life more deeply. Through all these changes, Yoga remained my anchor.
Today, I see Yoga as a path towards balance, awareness and complete well-being—not just of the body, but of the mind and the way we experience life.
My intention is to share this understanding in a way that is authentic, practical and meaningful, while creating a space where every participant can explore their own journey towards greater balance, inner awareness and well-being.
We want our participants to experience more than a wellness resort offering Ayurvedic treatments. We want them to understand, through their own experience, the depth and philosophy behind Ayurveda.
Personalised Care, Not a Standardised Package
Another important principle in selecting our partner institutions is personalisation.
Ayurveda is not a one-size-fits-all system. Individual constitution, present condition, lifestyle, daily routine, needs, and assessment all have a role in determining the appropriate approach.
This is why we deliberately choose centres where treatments and therapies are recommended after consultation and individual assessment, rather than simply providing the same programme to every guest.
We are not looking to add one or two popular Ayurvedic therapies to a holiday itinerary. Our intention is to create an opportunity for participants to experience a more complete and personalised Ayurvedic approach.
During the retreat, treatments are determined according to individual needs under the guidance of qualified Ayurvedic doctors and practitioners. This is one of the aspects we consider essential when deciding whether a centre is suitable for our group.
Comfort Without Compromising the Experience
We also understand that comfort and personal preferences are an important part of a retreat.
Different accommodation categories may therefore be available, from private rooms to shared accommodation for friends or family members. Participants can choose according to their preferences and circumstances.
But regardless of the accommodation category selected, certain standards should never be compromised—quality of care, safety, cleanliness, guidance, and the integrity of the retreat experience.( Standard rooms, to luxury cottages we offer all styles of accommodation). Participants can share with family or friends.
For us, creating a retreat means taking responsibility for the entire experience, from the moment participants arrive in India until they return home.
We carefully choose the places. We carefully choose the people. And we carefully create the experience.
Because when someone travels from Japan to India with their trust placed in us, we believe that trust deserves nothing less than our time, attention, and commitment

For us, luxury is not simply about the room, the surroundings, or the facilities.
True luxury is knowing that every important detail—from your consultation and treatment to your accommodation, safety, comfort, and daily experience—has been thoughtfully considered.
That is the standard we look for when choosing the places we bring our participant.
The retreat ensures different type of accommodation. Standard rooms to luxury cottages.
Transport is by private vehicles.
Food safety measures are well accounted.
For smooth experience for the group we ensure everyone is together during the sight seeing trips, but plenty of personal space in the facility campus.
The nature and serene surroundings with beautiful swimming pool and lush gardens bring peace of mind.
The city Hotel are 4* or more for luxury and comfort of our participants.

As your India ayurveda retreat organizer and guide Shalini-sensei is such a warm and sincere host. Every day, she would check in with us to make sure we were doing well, and | could really feel her genuine heart in wanting to understand each of our needs. It was so easy to trust her because she truly cares about everyone. Her explanations of Ayurveda were so interesting that they made me want to dive even deeper into it! Also, having her by my side during our local outings made me feel so safe and relaxed—I| knew that with her, everything would be okay. She even took the time to listen to all our wishes for sightseeing, making every moment of the trip so much fun. I'm so grateful for her kindness! I

Shalini was the very first person | ever went to for a healing session, and | still hold so much gratitude for that experience. She created a space where | felt deeply safe, seen, and held; a space where | could truly pour my heart out without fear or judgment. What started as a healing session became so much more. She later became my teacher when | attended my first healing workshop, gently introducing me to this path and holding my hand as | slowly began paving my own way forward. Her energy carries this beautiful balance of warmth, wisdom, and lightness; like a loving teacher who makes you feel safe while also making the journey feel joyful and human. Some people leave a lasting imprint on your journey, and Shalini is definitely one of those souls for me.

Shalini, taught our son Efrem, Art from age 5-7 and it was great. Every single lesson he came home with a huge smile and something he couldn't wait to show us. She has a real talent for making young children feel confident and free, never pressured, always encouraged. You can see the difference in how he approaches creativity now: curious, bold, and genuinely joyful about it .If you are looking for someone who truly connects with kids and makes art come alive for them., look no further. Highly recommended!!

Here is my honest review: I've been attending Shalini's meditation classes for many years, and it's genuinely one of the best commitments I've made for my mental and emotional wellbeing. Having tried meditating with many different teachers in various settings, what sets Shalini apart is how relatable and intuitive she is. Her guidance always feels personal and grounded. She has a remarkable ability to sense what each session needs and adjusts her techniques accordingly — it's consistently spot-on. Over the years, I've watched her help many fellow moms, including myself, work through stress and build mindfulness habits. Her warmth and patience create a space that feels safe and welcoming every single time. | couldn't recommend a better mentor to learn from and meditate with!

| took healing sessions from Shalini when | was a college student and was extremely lost and undecided about my future with extreme self-doubts and uncertainty about my own confidence. Taking these healing sessions helped rebuilt my own assertions as well as helped clear some doubts that | had about my future, as if a fog had been lifted off. This unique experience does not provide you with direct answers to your problems but rather helped me rebuilt my confidence and helped me in finding myself.

Having lived in Japan for many years, it's been difficult to find a meditation teacher. Because my child and Shalini's child attend the same school, | had the opportunity to learn meditation from her. In the past few years, | initially practiced at her home, where Shalini would prepare authentic Masala tea for us after each class. Later, the school provided a space, so we moved to the school. After class, we would gather for coffee and chat, sometimes about our children's studies, sometimes weaving in the wisdom of meditation into our casual conversations—it's a truly wonderful memory. Meditation is one of my long-held interests. Although | sometimes don't fully understand due to the language barrier, | still persist in attending Shalini's classes. | remember once she organized a meditation session in a park. The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom. We sat under the trees, with a road behind us. While meditating, we could hear pedestrians and trucks passing by.
